When I heard that one of my best friends was coming to visit the U.K., I couldn't wait to plan us a full weekend. Sara arrived on Friday evening, and we celebrated with pub food and a night out in town with some friends. We of course, also made sure that she ended the night with a Donner Kebab! The next morning, we made an English breakfast at home and then visited Tynemouth. She loved the Priory and the local fish & chips!
Next up, we hopped on a train early Sunday morning to Scotland. We spotted the Edinburgh castle from the train station, then continued on to tour the historic Stirling castle. Because it has such a rich history, the castle tour was vey interesting! Throughout the day, she also counted 3 kilts (which might have been her favorite part!), had a steak pie, tried haggis, and enjoyed a glass of Scotch.
But seriously, can we talk about these castle views?!
We finished up our visit in Stirling with a walk around town, and a light dinner in a local pub. We also made some memories on the way home, by getting a bit lost! We accidentally got on the wrong train, and had to run around in the rain trying to find our way back. It was definitely good for a laugh, and we made it home safely in the end :)
